There are lots of things to do in Murcia and also in neighbouring Alicante; whether you are looking for a waterpark, boat ride, spa or market.
Kayak Safari - Mar de Cristal (Mar Menor) - "We took a 2 hour kayaking session beach-hopping around the Mar Menor. We had a brilliant time doing something very different to anything we had done before and I would highly reccomend Aqua Adicta to anyone looking for a fun experience while visiting La Manga! "
Multi-activity Watersports - Mar de Cristal (Mar Menor) - "Our three children (10, 12, 14 years) really enjoyed 6 separate sessions including windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and snorkelling. The close and friendly supervision meant they got a great deal from the activities and had a thoroughly good time. They would all do it again, especially the windsurfing which was their favourite."

Boat Trip & Fort Visit - Cartagena - "This boat trip takes you around the harbour and slightly out to sea for approx. 45 mins. There is a running commentary in Spanish and English. Interesting fort, great views, made a pleasant few hours trip with a short boat trip to and from. Cartagena has a great naval history, it was most educational."
Castle & Glass Lift - Cartagena - "Really nicely organised for visitors can be accessed by disabled with wheelchair lift and ramps . Breathtaking views 360 degrees . Really worth the steps or ramps to see it."
Arqua Muesum of Marine Archaology - Cartagena - "Wonderful museum with lots of hands on exhibits and displays for children. Very high tech and well designed. Great info on Phoenician, Roman and medieval sea travel and shipping."
Golf Delux - Los Alcázares - "A good laugh. Some of us non golfers beat some who play golf. Lots of water hazards and bunkers. Good value at 13 Euros per person for a round including lunch (burger and chips or a prawn salad for example)"
Go Karting - Cabo de Palos - "If you are in the area this is a good fun activity for all the family, it is a medium sized track and the cars are easy to handle, a great day out."
Quad Biking - Sierra Espuña - "We did laser clay pigeon shooting and quad biking. Both instructors were really friendly, informative and ensured that we enjoyed ourselves. Great value for money."
Tentegorra Park - Waterpark and Adventure Park - Cartagena - "More than a water park – there’s a full blown adventure park here too, with death slides and trails through the wonderful parkland, a huge maze, a kids play area, football, tennis & padel courts, and of course 3 swimming pools with slides and water features. The water slides aren’t nearly as big as Aqua Natura, but they are plenty of fun for big kids and little ones – there’s a height restriction for the largest slide.."
Aquopolis Waterpark - Torrevieja - " If you like water rides then this is for you. Various slides, pools and more. A great day out for all the family. There are picnic areas, secure lockers and food available"
Aqua Natura Waterpark - Murcia - "Has numerous slides and pools – Prison Island, Cuba & Grave Island, there are water toboggans, multiple slides and a long slow river. It seems that many water slides are only for children 1.20m or taller, which excludes the younger (or shorter!) ones in the family. There are also play pools for younger (smaller) children, but no slides."
Terra Natura Safari Park - Murcia - "The birds of prey show is particularly good, despite being presented in Spanish only. The sea lion show on the other hand is quite simple and apparently more on the educational side, which was impossible to enjoy due to the language. The whole park is not exceptionally big, but rather well-thought, nicely decorated, well maintained and tidy..."
Aquapark Waterpark - Rojales - "Our boys of 6 and 8 loved it as there were plenty of things that they were allowed to do - far more than at other water parks we have been to which seemed more adult oriented whereas this place seems aimed at teenagers and younger kids."
Aqualandia Waterpark - Benidorm - "Great water park, really big with a lot of different areas to explore and swim in, bear in mind that is salt water. Make sure you take your sun cream as you can easily get burnt quickly on hot days"
MundoMar (Sea World) - Benidorm - " Myself and my children throughly enjoyed the parrot, sea lion and dolphin show was amazing. The staff are very friendly. Food is a little pricey but a great day out had by all."

There are markets in the area every day of the week; I have listed some of the best ones below. Los Belones market is pretty small but it is local to us. Markets only run during the morning.
There are numerous spas available in the area. Within a 10 min drive you will find the La Manga Club Spa and also, just at the bottom of the La Manga "Strip", the Entremares Hotel Balneario which has a variety of spa treatments available. It also has four 35 degree Mediterranean seawater swimming pools.
Slightly further a field (30mins) is Thalasia in San Pedro del Pinatar, a new spa centre with warm water pools, jets, treatments, gym and restaurant. The Balneario in Archena is well worth a visit it has open air and indoor spa pools, saunas, steam room, flotation pools and much more.
